The Internet was originally created so that academics could exchange information. It was developed by the Department of Defense so that a communications network could survive if conventional communications were taken out in a war. But I prefer to see it used for inspired lunacy like 2000 AD, starring future lawman Judge Dredd, (a much better comic than the lousy movie adaptation starring Sylvester Stallone would indicate). Right now, the strip is featuring Dredd versus the Aliens of the popular movie series, and part of the result is one of the best Gruddamned comic book covers ever!
